Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel
Upgrade from the pricing page or your plan settings. To downgrade or cancel, open the billing portal from Settings → Subscription & Billing → Manage Payment. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep Pro until then.
Your plan lives in one place: Settings → Subscription & Billing. From there you can move up to Pro, switch how often you’re billed, or stop your subscription. Anything that touches your card — downgrades, cancellations, payment details — happens in the secure billing portal, which Chiefy opens for you.
Find your plan settings
In the Chiefy web app, open Settings, then choose Subscription & Billing. This page shows your current plan, status, and next payment date.
The Manage Payment button — which opens the billing portal — appears whenever you have an active recurring Pro subscription, including while you’re in a free trial. You won’t see it if you’re on Free, on Lifetime Pro, or once your subscription has ended (status Canceled).

Upgrade from Free to Pro
If you’re on the Free plan, upgrading takes a moment:
-
Open the pricing page
Use any Upgrade prompt in the app, or open Settings → Subscription & Billing — Free accounts are sent straight to the pricing page.
-
Choose your plan
Pick monthly or yearly billing and continue to secure checkout via Stripe.
-
Start your free trial
If you haven’t used a trial before, your Pro plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You won’t be charged until the trial ends.
A free trial is available once per account. If you’ve already used yours, upgrading starts your paid Pro plan right away. See Plans and your free trial for what’s included.
Downgrade your plan
Downgrading is handled in the billing portal.
-
Open the billing portal
Go to Settings → Subscription & Billing and click Manage Payment. Chiefy hands you off to the secure billing portal, then brings you back to this page when you’re done.
-
Switch your billing
From yearly to monthly, change the plan in the portal. There’s no separate downgrade-to-Free option — to return to Free, cancel your subscription (see the next section).
When you downgrade, your current Pro benefits stay active until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for. The change takes effect when that period ends — you don’t lose anything mid-cycle.
Cancel your subscription
You can stop a recurring subscription at any time without losing access right away.
-
Open the billing portal
Go to Settings → Subscription & Billing and click Manage Payment to open the billing portal.
-
Request cancellation
Choose to cancel in the portal and confirm. Your subscription is now set to end — it isn’t cut off immediately.
After you cancel, your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period, so you keep every Pro feature until then. Once that date passes, the status becomes Canceled and your account moves to Free.
While a cancellation is scheduled, Chiefy shows an “ending soon” notice on your billing page with the exact end date and a Keep My Subscription button. That button reopens the billing portal, where you can reverse the cancellation — so it’s easy to change your mind before the period ends.
Canceling is not the same as deleting your account. Your data and settings stay in place; you simply move from Pro to Free when the period ends.
Reactivate a canceled subscription
If you scheduled a cancellation but it hasn’t taken effect yet, you can turn it back on. Before your period-end date, open the billing portal — either from Manage Payment or from the Keep My Subscription button on the “ending soon” notice — and reverse the cancellation there.
Once the period has fully ended and your subscription shows as Canceled, the Manage Payment button no longer appears. At that point, returning to Pro means starting a new subscription from the pricing page rather than reactivating the old one.
Lifetime Pro
Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there’s nothing to renew, manage, or cancel. Lifetime accounts show a Lifetime duration and no Next payment date, and the Manage Payment button does not appear because there’s no recurring billing to manage.
