Your first five minutes with Chiefy

Getting started with Chiefy takes a few minutes. You connect your inbox, move through a brief onboarding flow, and land on a confirmation screen with a clear next step. This guide walks you through what to expect at each step and where you end up.

Before you start

You’ll need to connect a mailbox first. If you haven’t yet, see Connect Gmail or Outlook. To use Chiefy directly inside Gmail, you’ll also want the extension — see Install the Chiefy extension.

Chiefy’s features stay locked until you have an active plan. Starting the free trial during onboarding unlocks everything.

Step through onboarding

After you sign in, Chiefy guides you through three short screens.

1. Feature preview

   The first screen is a short, animated preview while Chiefy gets ready. You’ll see messages about analyzing your communication patterns, setting up, and optimizing your workflows. This screen is purely visual — nothing is being read or changed in your inbox yet.

   When it finishes, choose Transform Your Inbox to continue.

2. Choose your plan

   Next you’ll see the Pro plan with a 14-day free trial. Pick monthly or annual, then start your trial through secure checkout. You can cancel anytime.

3. You're all set

   The final screen confirms your trial is active and Chiefy is ready. From here, one button takes you to the next step — your dashboard, or straight back to Gmail.

Where you land

The confirmation screen offers a clear next step:

• After you start your trial, you’ll see Go to Dashboard, which opens your Chiefy dashboard. If you have the extension installed, Chiefy is already running in Gmail — just switch back to that tab whenever you’re ready.

If you already have a plan and you’re an extension user, Chiefy skips the plan screen entirely and shows a Go to Gmail button instead — it takes you straight back to your inbox, no setup needed.

What you’ll see in the side panel

Open Chiefy from the side panel in Gmail and the tabs you see depend on your plan.

• On Pro, Chiefy opens straight into Ask Chiefy — the assistant you can chat with about your email and calendar — and there’s no Home tab.
• If you haven’t started a plan yet, or your plan has lapsed, you’ll also get a Home tab with a quick way to start the trial, upgrade to Pro, or reactivate your plan.
