Delete your data or revoke access
You can step back from Chiefy at any time. Disconnect a mailbox to pause automation and sync, revoke Chiefy’s access from ChatGPT, or email us to delete your personal data for good. You stay in control of every level.
There are three things you might mean by “remove my data,” and they’re different. Disconnecting a mailbox pauses Chiefy on that account but keeps what was already synced. Revoking access cuts off a connected app, like the Chiefy app in ChatGPT. Deleting your data removes your personal data from our records entirely. This article covers all three, from the lightest step to the most permanent.
Disconnect a mailbox
Rolling out. Connecting and disconnecting additional mailboxes is available to a limited set of accounts while we roll it out. If you don’t have it yet, you can revoke Chiefy’s access from your email provider, or delete your Chiefy account (below).
Disconnecting tells Chiefy to stop watching and syncing a connected account. Automation pauses, new mail stops syncing, and the mailbox moves to a disconnected state — but anything already synced is retained, so you can reconnect later without losing your setup.
-
Open Connected Mailboxes
In the Chiefy web app, open Integrations, then find Connected mailboxes. (You can open the web app from the Settings item in the Chiefy side-panel menu, or go to app.chiefy.com directly.) Each connected account appears as a row with its current status.
-
Find the mailbox
Locate the account you want to step back from in the list.
-
Disconnect it A
On that mailbox’s row, open the overflow menu (⋯) and choose Disconnect, then confirm. Chiefy pauses automation and sync for that account right away. Your previously synced data stays in place.

You can’t disconnect the mailbox you sign in with. Because you signed in to Chiefy as that account, it can’t be disconnected from this screen. If you want to fully step away from it, request data deletion below.
Disconnecting is a pause, not an erasure. For the full flow — what changes after you disconnect, and how to reconnect — see Disconnect or pause a mailbox. To remove the synced data as well, use the deletion request further down this page.
Revoke the Chiefy app in ChatGPT
If you’ve connected Chiefy as an app in ChatGPT, you can cut off that access from ChatGPT itself. Revoking invalidates Chiefy’s tokens for your ChatGPT connection — all related tokens are revoked together, so a single revoke fully ends the session.
-
Open ChatGPT settings
In ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Apps (your connected apps).
-
Find Chiefy
Locate Chiefy in your list of connected apps.
-
Revoke access B
Choose Revoke. ChatGPT ends Chiefy’s access for that connection, and every token in the set is revoked at once. To use Chiefy in ChatGPT again later, you’d reconnect and re-authorize.
Chiefy B Revoke to disconnect Chiefy from ChatGPTChatGPT → Settings → Apps → Chiefy → Revoke.
For developers: revocation follows the standard token revocation flow (RFC 7009). Posting a token to the
/chatgpt/oauth/revokeendpoint revokes the entire family of tokens linked to it, not just the one you send.
Revoking the ChatGPT app doesn’t disconnect your mailboxes or delete your data — it only ends Chiefy’s access from ChatGPT. Handle those separately using the other sections here.
Request full data deletion
When you want your personal data removed for good — not just paused — send us a deletion request and we’ll erase the personal data we hold about you.
-
Email us
Send a data deletion request to hello@chiefy.com from the email address on your account, so we can verify it’s you.
-
Tell us what you want removed
Let us know you’d like your personal data deleted. We’ll confirm the request and remove your personal data from our records.
Deletion can’t always be honored in full. We may need to deny or limit a deletion request where keeping certain data is required to comply with the law or to meet ongoing contract obligations. We’ll tell you if an exception applies to your request.
Your rights under GDPR
If you’re in the EU, the law gives you specific rights over your personal data, and our Privacy Policy commits to them. You can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, including a copy of it
- Correct information that’s incomplete or inaccurate
- Erase your personal data when there’s no good reason for us to keep processing it
- Port your data — receive it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
To exercise any of these, email us at hello@chiefy.com. The same legal exceptions noted above can apply, and we’ll explain if one affects your request.
